Leaf Springs

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Parking brake cable
   • Rear speed sensor
   • Shock absorber
   • U-bolt and seat
   • Bumper stopper
   • Shackle plate and assembly
   • Rubber bushings
   • Leaf spring

   To install:

3. Install or connect the following:
   • Rubber bushing
   • Shackle plate and assembly. Torque the front nut to 145 ft. lbs. (196 Nm) and the rear nuts to 38 ft. lbs. (52 Nm).
   • Bumper stopper
   • U-bolt and seat. Torque the nuts to 72–87 (98–118).
   • Shock absorber. Torque the mounting bolts to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
   • Rear speed sensor
   • Parking brake cable
