Disarming & Arming

To Disarm:

1. Turn the ignition key to the LOCK position.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and tape the terminal.

   WARNING
   After disconnecting the battery cable, wait at least 60 seconds before doing any further work. The SRS system retains enough voltage to deploy the air bag for a short time even after the Battery has been disconnected, so serious injury may result from unintended air bag deployment if work is done on the SRS system immediately after the battery cable is disconnected.

   WARNING
   Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain some lead and lead compounds. Wash your hands after handling.

3. Remove the floor console side covers on both the right and left sides, and remove the SRS –ECU assembly.

To Arm:

1. Reconnect the Battery.
