Lower Arm & Toe Control Arm Assembly

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

Lower arm & toe control arm assembly

NOTE: Fasteners marked with * should be hand tightened until the vehicle is back on the ground, then they should be fully torqued to their specifications.

  1. Remove stabilizer link.
  2. Disconnect the lower arm assembly and knuckle connection.
  3. Remove lower arm assembly mounting bolt and lower arm assembly.

    NOTE: Make sure you tie the cord on the special tool (MB991113) to another part. Also, loosen the nut but do not remove it.

  4. Disconnect the toe control arm ball joint and knuckle connection.

  5. Before removing the toe control arm assembly mounting bolt, make alignment marks on the toe control arm and eccentric cam bolt.
  6. Remove the toe control arm assembly.

To Install:

Lower arm & toe control arm assembly

NOTE: Fasteners marked with * should be hand tightened until the vehicle is back on the ground, then they should be fully torqued to their specifications.

  1. Install the toe control assembly.

  2. Install the toe control arm assembly mounting bolt using the alignment marks made during removal.

  3. Connect the toe control arm ball joint and knuckle connection.
  4. Install the lower arm assembly and mounting bolt.
  5. Connect the lower arm assembly and knuckle connection.
  6. Install the stabilizer link.
  7. Do a wheel alignment check and make any necessary adjustments.
