Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve

Removal & Installation

2.4L Engine

To Remove:

1. Remove the air cleaner cover, air duct and resonator.
2. Disconnect the connectors from the following;
   • Throttle body
   • MAP sensor
   • EVAP purge solenoid
   • Knock sensor
   • Power steering pressure switch
   • Fuel injectors
   • Ignition coil
   • Ground wire
   • EGR valve
3. Remove the EGR valve and gasket.

To Install:

1. Install the EGR valve with a new gasket.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the following;
   • Throttle body
   • MAP sensor
   • EVAP purge solenoid
   • Knock sensor
   • Power steering pressure switch
   • Fuel injectors
   • Ignition coil
   • Ground wire
   • EGR valve
3. Install the air cleaner cover, air duct and resonator.

3.8L Engine

To Remove:

1. Remove the strut tower brace.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
3. Remove the EGR valve and gasket.

To Install:

1. Install the EGR valve with a new gasket.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the EGR valve.
3. Install the strut tower brace.
