Removal & Installation

2.4L Engine

M/T

To Remove:

1. Remove the clutch release cylinder from the transaxle assembly while the pipe is installed.
2. Remove the starter cover.
3. Remove the starter connector and terminal.
4. Remove the starter assembly from above the vehicle.
5. Remove the starter cover bracket.

To Install:

1. Install the starter cover bracket.
2. Install the starter assembly.
3. Install the starter connector and terminal.
4. Install the starter cover.
5. Install the clutch release cylinder.

A/T

To Remove:

1. Remove the ATF warmer and bracket assembly from the transmission case front roll stopper bracket, with the hose still installed.
2. Remove the starter cover.
3. Remove the starter connector and terminal.
4. Remove the starter assembly from the side of the ATF warmer.
5. Remove the starter cover bracket.

To Install:

1. Install the starter cover bracket.
2. Install the starter assembly.
3. Install the starter connector and terminal.
4. Install the starter cover.
5. Install the ATF warmer and bracket assembly.

3.8L Engine

To Remove:

1. Remove the starter connector and terminal.
2. Remove the starter cover.
3. Remove the starter assembly from underneath the vehicle.

To Install:

1. Install the starter assembly.
2. Install the starter cover.
3. Install the terminal and starter connector.
