- Unplug the VIC solenoid and the MFI relay harness connectors. Insert the
circuit tester probes into both ends of the harness and check for continuity
between the VIC solenoid terminal 1 and the MFI relay terminal 3. If no continuity
exists, repair the harness between these two terminals.
- Unplug the ECM connector and check for an open or short-circuit to ground
between the VIC solenoid terminal 2 and the ECM terminal 20. If there exists
such a problem, repair the harness between the two terminals, otherwise the
harness is good.
