With the ECM connector unplugged, check for continuity of the ground circuit. Connect terminals 101 and 106 (for 2.4L and 3.0L 12 valve engines) or terminals 13 and 26 (for 3.0L 24 valve or 3.5L engines) to a grounded ohmmeter. There should be continuity between these terminals and the ground, if there is not, the circuit (harness) needs to be repaired or replaced from terminals 101 and 106 to ground or 13 and 26 to ground, depending which applies.
