REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

On all 1992–95 Monteros, the G-sensor is located under the rear center console next to the parking brake hand lever.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
2. Remove the rear center console to gain access to the G-sensor.
3. Unplug the wiring harness connector to the G-sensor.
4. Remove the two retaining bolts and extract the G-sensor from the vehicle.

   WARNING
   When removing the G-sensor, take care not to drop it or subject it to a severe impact.

5. To install, set the G-sensor in place and secure it in place with the retaining bolts.
6. Plug the wiring harness connectors back together.
7. Install the rear center console.

8. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
9. Have the ABS system re-checked to make certain that the new G-sensor functions correctly.
