HOW TO READ DIAGNOSIS CODE
| caution | Before connecting or disconnecting the M.U.T.-IIISE, turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position <except vehicles with Keyless Operation System (KOS)> or put the power supply mode is OFF <vehicles with Keyless Operation System (KOS)>. |
Connect the M.U.T.-IIISE to the 16-pin diagnosis connector, and read the diagnosis code.

1. Ensure that the ignition switch is at the "LOCK" (OFF) position <except vehicles with KOS> or put the power supply mode is OFF <vehicles with KOS>.
2. Start up the personal computer.
3. Connect special tool V.C.I.-Lite USB cable (MB992747/MB992748) to V.C.I.-Lite (MB992744) and the personal computer.
4. Connect V.C.I.-Lite main harness A (MB992745) to the V.C.I.-Lite.
5. Connect the V.C.I.-Lite main harness A to the diagnosis connector of the vehicle.| note | - When the V.C.I.-Lite is connected to the diagnosis connector, the V.C.I.-Lite indicator lamp will be illuminated in a green colour.
- If the V.C.I.-Lite indicator lamp does not light in green, check the power supply and earth line of the diagnosis connector.

6. Start the M.U.T.-IIISE system on the personal computer and turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position <except vehicles with KOS> or put the power supply mode is ON <vehicles with KOS>.
7. Read the diagnosis code.
8. Disconnecting the M.U.T.-IIISE is the reverse of the connecting sequence, making sure that the ignition switch is at the "LOCK" (OFF) position <except vehicles with KOS> or put the power supply mode is OFF <vehicles with KOS>.
