Code No. P0133: Linear A/F Sensor Circuit Slow Response
FUNCTION
- The engine-ECU effects air/fuel ratio feedback control in accordance with the signals from the linear A/F sensor.
- If the linear A/F sensor has deteriorated, corrections will be made by the oxygen sensor (rear).
TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
Check Conditions
- Engine speed is more than 1,219 r/min and is less than 3,000 r/min.
- Volumetric efficiency is more than 25 % and is less than 90 %.
- Engine coolant temperature is more than 60°C.
- Under the closed loop air/fuel control.
- Short-term fuel trim is more than -25 % and is less than +25 %.
- More than 3 seconds have elapsed after the above mentioned conditions have been met.
- During the drive cycle, the engine-ECU performs monitoring with the accumulated total time of 10 seconds, 5 times.
Judgement Criterion
- The average frequency is less than 8 times.
- The frequency is less than 13 times.
FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Failed linear A/F sensor
- Loose connector contact
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE diagnosis code
Replace the linear A/F sensor.
