Code No. P006E: Waste Gate Actuator Supply Voltage Circuit Low Voltage

OPERATION
  • Battery voltage is applied to the engine-ECU connector terminal WGMB from the engine control relay.

FUNCTION
  • Engine-ECU checks the waste gate actuator control servo power voltage for abnormal conditions.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
Check Conditions
  • After 2 seconds since the ignition switch is turned ON or since the completion of engine start.
  • Battery positive voltage is more than 8.3 V.
Judgement Criterion
  • Supply voltage of the waste gate actuator control servo is less than 6 V.

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
  • Stop driving the waste gate actuator control servo.
  • Torque is restricted.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Blown fuse
  • Open/short circuit or harness damage in waste gate actuator control servo power supply circuit or loose connector contact.
  • Failed engine-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Perform voltage measurement at engine-ECU connector.
  • Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
  • Ignition switch: ON
  • Voltage between terminal WGMB and body earth.
OK: System voltage
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Power supply fuse check
Is the fuse in good condition?
Repair the connector(s), or check and repair of open circuit in WGMB line between engine control relay connector and engine-ECU connector.
Replace the fuse (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - Inspection Service Points for a Blown Fuse ).

STEP 3. Check of damage in WGMB line between engine control relay connector and engine-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 4. M.U.T.-IIISE diagnosis code
  • Reconfirmation of diagnosis code.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the engine-ECU.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
