Code No. P062B: Direct Injection Control Performance

OPERATION
  • Battery voltage is applied to the engine-ECU connector terminal DIB1, DIB2, DIB3 and DIB4 from the engine control relay.

FUNCTION
  • Engine-ECU checks the injector (high pressure) power voltage for abnormal conditions.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
Check Condition
  • After 2 seconds since the ignition switch is turned ON or since the completion of engine start.
  • Battery positive voltage is more than 10 V.
Judgement Criterion
  • boosted voltage for injector (high pressure) is less than 47 V for 2 seconds.

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
  • While prohibiting the operation of the injector (high pressure), carry out the control by the injector operation only.
  • Torque is restricted.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Open/short circuit or harness damage in injector (high pressure) circuit or loose connector contact
  • Blown fuse
  • Failed engine-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Power supply fuse check
Is the fuse in good condition?
Go to Step 2.
Replace the fuse (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - Inspection Service Points for a Blown Fuse ).

STEP 2. Perform voltage measurement at engine-ECU connector.
  • Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
  • Ignition switch: ON
  • Voltage between terminal DIB1 and body earth.
  • Voltage between terminal DIB2 and body earth.
  • Voltage between terminal DIB3 and body earth.
  • Voltage between terminal DIB4 and body earth.
OK: System voltage
Are the check results normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the connector(s), or check and repair of open circuit in DIB1, DIB2, DIB3 or DIB4 lines between engine control relay connector and engine-ECU connector.

STEP 3. Check of damage in DIB1, DIB2, DIB3 and DIB4 lines between engine control relay connector and engine-ECU connector.
Are the check results normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 4. Perform resistance measurement at engine-ECU connector.
  • Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
  • Resistance between terminal DIG1 and body earth.
  • Resistance between terminal DIG2 and body earth.
  • Resistance between terminal DIG3 and body earth.
  • Resistance between terminal DIG4 and body earth.
OK: Continuity (2 Ω or less)
Are the check results normal?
Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s), or check and repair of open circuit, and damage in DIG1, DIG2, DIG3 or DIG4 lines between engine-ECU connector and body earth.

STEP 5. M.U.T.-IIISE diagnosis code
  • Reconfirmation of diagnosis code.
Is diagnosis code set?
Replace the engine-ECU.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
