Code No. P2100: Throttle Valve Control Servo Circuit (open)
OPERATION
- Controls the current that is applied from the engine-ECU connector terminals ETV+, ETV- to the electronic-controlled throttle valve.
FUNCTION
- Engine-ECU varies the direction and the amperage of the current that is applied to the throttle valve control servo in order to control the opening of the throttle valve.
TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
Check Condition
- Battery positive voltage is more than 8.3 V.
Judgement Criteria
- The proposed output voltage subtracted from the output voltage of the throttle position sensor (main/sub) equals 0.1 V or higher.
- The learning value at the middle-opened degree subtracted from the output voltage of the throttle position sensor (main/sub) equals 0.2 V or lower.
- Although the driving signal of the throttle valve control servo is output, the throttle valve control servo is not driven.
FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
- Throttle opening degree position is in default position.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Failed throttle valve control servo.
- Open circuit or harness damage in throttle valve control servo circuit or lose connector contact.
- Failed engine-ECU
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check throttle valve control servo itself.
STEP 2. Perform resistance measurement at engine-ECU connector.
- Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
- Resistance between terminal RSG line and body earth.
OK: Continuity (2 Ω or less)
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
- Repair the connector(s), or check and repair of open circuit, and damage in RSG line between engine-ECU connector and body earth.
STEP 3. Check of open circuit, and damage in ETV+ line between electronic-controlled throttle valve connector and engine-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 4. Check of open circuit, and damage in ETV- line between electronic-controlled throttle valve connector and engine-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 5. M.U.T-IIISE diagnosis code
