FUNCTION
  • An engine-ECU checks whether vehicle chassis number is stored or not.
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
Check Condition
  • Ignition switch is "ON" position.
  • EEPROM is normal.
Judgement Criterion
  • Chassis number has not been written.
 
 
FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
  • None
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSE
  • Chassis number has not been written.
  • Failed engine-ECU.
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check whether a chassis number is written.
Is a chassis number written?
Go to Step 2.
Write a correct chassis number. Then go to Step 3.
 
STEP 2. M.U.T.-IIISE diagnosis code
  • Reconfirmation of diagnosis code.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the engine-ECU.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
 
STEP 3. M.U.T.-IIISE diagnosis code
  • Reconfirmation of diagnosis code.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the engine-ECU.
Check end.
