STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE actuator test
- Item 4: Purge control solenoid valve ON
OK: Operating sound can be heard and the valve vibrates
Is the check result normal?
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions
).
Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Perform resistance measurement at purge control solenoid valve connector.
- Disconnect connector, and measure at solenoid valve side.
- Resistance between terminals.
OK: 21 - 27 Ω (at 20°C)
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the purge control solenoid valve.
STEP 3. Perform voltage measurement at purge control solenoid valve connector.
- Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
- Ignition switch: ON
- Voltage between terminal power supply line and body earth.
OK: System voltage
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s), or check and repair of open circuit, and short circuit in power supply line between purge control solenoid valve connector and engine control relay connector.
STEP 4. Perform voltage measurement at engine-ECU connector.
- Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
- Ignition switch: ON
- Voltage between terminal PURG and body earth.
OK: System voltage
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s), or check and repair of open circuit, and short circuit in PURG line between purge control solenoid valve connector and engine-ECU connector.
STEP 5. Check of damage in PURG line between purge control solenoid valve connector and engine-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 6.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 6. Check of damage in power supply line between purge control solenoid valve connector and engine control relay connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 7.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 7. M.U.T.-IIISE actuator test
- Item 4: Purge control solenoid valve ON
OK: Operating sound can be heard and the valve vibrates
Is the check result normal?
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions
).
Replace the engine-ECU.
