Code No. P0946: Electric oil pump relay stuck on
| caution | When you stop the vehicle while code No. P0946 is set and the AS&G is activated, the engine will also be stopped automatically. However, the CVT-ECU requests the engine to restart immediately. |
Diagnosis function
The CVT-ECU monitors whether the electric oil pump relay works normally.
JUDGEMENT CRITERIA
The status signal of the electric oil pump remains other than 0% for five seconds.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Electric oil pump relay fails
- Damaged harness wires and connectors
- The CVT-ECU is defective.
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Measure the voltage at electric oil pump connector.
(1) Road test the vehicle and then stop it to turn the ignition switch to LOCK (OFF).
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Measure the voltage between the power supply terminal and earth terminal of the electric oil pump connector.OK: 0 V
Is the check result normal?
Drive the vehicle in order to reproduce the trouble.
Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Check the power supply lines between the electric oil pump relay connector and the electric oil pump connector for short to power supply.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3. Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 3. Check the electric oil pump relay.
STEP 4. Check the OPRL line between the electric oil pump relay connector and the CVT-ECU connector for short to power supply.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5. Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
