Code No. P1798: Malfunction of G Sensor Signal
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
The CVT-ECU determines that the system is defective when it receives a G sensor abnormality signal from the ASC-ECU.
 
 
JUDGEMENT CRITERIA
After the system has detected that the power supply voltage is 9 V or more, the engine speed is 450 r/min or more and the vehicle speed is 5 km/h or more, the system receives a malfunction signal from the G sensor for five seconds.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of ASC-ECU
  • Malfunction of CVT-ECU
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE diagnosis code
Check if the ASC-related diagnosis code is set.
Is the ASC-related diagnosis code set?
Carry out the appropriate troubleshooting.
Go to Step 2.
 
STEP 2. Symptom recheck after erasing diagnosis code
Drive the vehicle at 5 km/h or more, and check again.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the CVT-ECU.
