INSPECTION PROCEDURE 4: 4WD system check screen is displayed on the centre of the multi-information display and a "4WD" symbol flashes at the left top. But no diagnosis codes are set.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
  • When a 4WD system check screen is displayed on the centre of the multi-information display and a "4WD" symbol flashes at the left top without setting any diagnosis codes, the power supply to the AWC-ECU may be defective.
  • When the power supply voltage to the AWC-ECU drops under approx. 6 V, the ECU cannot set any diagnosis codes due to the poor power supply. In this case, the combination meter will determine that the AWC-ECU is timed out, and then display "4WD system check" at the centre of the multi-information display and make "4WD" symbol flash at the left top.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors
  • Malfunction of AWC-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
1. Check the Inspection Procedure 5: Malfunction of power supply circuit system (Refer to ).
2. Check the trouble symptom.
