Inspection Procedure 2: When the ignition switch is turned ON, the electric parking brake warning lamp remains on.
 
 
 
 
OPERATION
  • The electric parking brake ECU informs the combination meter that the electric parking brake warning lamp illuminates via CAN.
  • When the ignition switch is turned ON, the electric parking brake ECU illuminates the electric parking brake warning lamp for approximately three seconds as a bulb check.
 
 
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
This trouble symptom assumes that M.U.T.-IIISE CAN bus diagnosis result is OK and no diagnosis code is et.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the electric parking brake ECU
  • Malfunction of the combination meter
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE data list
(1) Check the following data list.
  • Item No.50: EPB warning lamp
(2) Turn ON the ignition switch, and wait for at least approximately three seconds. "OFF" should be displayed.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Replace the electric parking brake ECU (Refer to ).
 
STEP 2. Retest the system
Is the check result normal?
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the combination meter (Refer to GROUP 54A - Combination Meter ).
