DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
When a short to power supply, short to earth or open circuit is detected in the electric steering lock, KOS&OSS-ECU sets diagnosis code No.B1149. At the same time, KOS&OSS-ECU displays the steering lock abnormality warning to the combination meter.
JUDGEMENT CRITERIA
Judgement Criterion
- When an open circuit, short to earth, or short to power supply in PCK line is detected.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Damaged wiring harness or connector (open circuit, short to earth, or short to power supply in PCK line)
- Electric steering lock malfunction
- Malfunction of KOS&OSS-ECU
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Voltage measurement at KOS&OSS-ECU connector (PCK terminal)
(1) Check at the KOS&OSS-ECU connector energised side.
(2) Power supply mode: OFF
(3) Measure the voltage between the KOS&OSS-ECU connector (PCK terminal) and body earth.OK: more than 4 V
| note | If the engine can be started, check that the PCK terminal voltage while the engine is being started is 1V or less. |
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Check of short to power supply, short to earth or open circuit in PCK line between the electric steering lock connector and KOS&OSS-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3. Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 3. After performing the locking and unlocking operations of the electric steering lock, recheck the diagnosis code.
STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
