Inspection Procedure 8: The LED headlamp warning lamp illuminates.
 
 
cautionWhenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
 
 
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the LED headlamp warning lamp illuminates, the LED headlamps, the related connectors, the ETACS-ECU or the combination meter may be defective.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the LED headlamp(s)
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
  • Malfunction of the combination meter
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check that the headlamps operate.
Check that the low beam and high beam headlamps illuminate normally.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the headlamp assembly (Refer to ).
 
STEP 2. Retest the system
Check whether the LED headlamp warning lamp is off.
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Go to Step 3.
 
STEP 3. Retest the system
Substitute the ETACS-ECU with a known good one. Turn the headlamps on by operating the lighting switch. Check whether the LED headlamp warning lamp is off.
Is the check result normal?
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
Install the original ETACS-ECU, and replace the combination meter.
