cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
Diagnosis code No. B1E17 will be set when the right tail lamp control circuit in the ETACS-ECU fails.
 
 
JUDGEMENT CRITERIA
Diagnosis code No. B1E17 will be set when the ETACS-ECU detects a short to earth in its right tail lamp control circuit.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • The right tail lamp control circuit fails
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
M.U.T.-IIISE diagnosis code
Check if diagnosis code No. B16A7 is set in the ETACS-ECU.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Carry out the troubleshooting for diagnosis code No. B16A7. On completion, replace the ETACS-ECU when it has not been replaced as the troubleshooting process for diagnosis code No. B16A7. This is because diagnosis code No. B1E17 cannot be erased.
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
