Code No.B1E19 Rear Fog Lamp(LH/RH) Open Load or Blown Error
 
 
cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
Diagnosis code No. B1E1A will be set when the rear fog lamp bulb is burned or the rear fog lamp circuit fails.
 
 
JUDGEMENT CRITERIA
Diagnosis code No. B1E19 will be set if the ETACS-ECU detects a open between itself and the rear fog lamp.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Blown rear fog lamp bulb
  • Rear fog lamp bulb installed improperly
  • Malfunction of rear fog lamp socket and rear fog lamp unit
  • The rear fog lamp control circuit fails
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Bulb check
Check whether the rear fog lamp bulb is blown or installed improperly.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2
Replace or reinstall the rear fog lamp bulb.
 
STEP 2. Check of open circuit in RFOG line between the rear fog lamp connector and ETACS-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
 
STEP 3. Check of open circuit in earth line between the rear fog lamp connector and body earth.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
 
STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code No.B1E19 is set in the ETACS-ECU.
(1) Erase the diagnosis code.
(2) Turn on the rear fog lamp.
(3) Check the diagnosis code No.B1E19 is set.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace a rear fog lamp socket and rear fog lamp unit. Then go to Step 5.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
 
STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code No.B1E19 is set in the ETACS-ECU.
(1) Erase the diagnosis code.
(2) Turn on the rear fog lamp.
(3) Check the diagnosis code No.B1E19 is set.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
The diagnosis is complete.
