cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
If the daytime running lamp fails, the ETACS-ECU will set diagnosis code No. B1E27.
 
 
JUDGEMENT CRITERIA
Diagnosis code No. B1E27 will be set if the ETACS-ECU detects a short to power supply between the daytime running lamp relay and the ETACS-ECU.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check of short to power supply circuit in IDRL line between the DRL relay connector and ETACS-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
 
STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code No.B1E27 is set in the ETACS-ECU.
(1) Erase the diagnosis code.
(2) Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position to start the engine.
(3) Check if diagnosis code is set.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
