Code No. C1753 Radar blockage detected

caution
  • Prior to this diagnosis, check the area in the proximity of the sensor for cleanness (Refer to ).
  • Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

OPERATION
The FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU monitors whether the sensor or its surrounding area is contaminated or its beam is blocked by foreign material.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITION
This diagnosis code is set when any of the following conditions is detected:
  • If any of the following conditions is satisfied, the system will determine that the sensor detection performance is deteriorated.
    • Extremely bad weather (heavy rain, snow fall, or icing)
    • Unfavourable road condition or environments
    • The windshield is contaminated or blanked off ahead of the sensor (foreign material, e.g. snow, icing, condensation, or fog on the windshield)

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Faults on the windshield glass (such as scratch, cracks, contamination or drain drops on the glass surface)
  • Malfunction of the FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check the FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU mounted surface on the windshield.
Visually check the FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU mounted surface on the windshield for scratch, cracks, contamination or drain drops.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Windshield glass replacement (Refer to GROUP 42A - windshield glass removal and installation ).

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU.
(1) Erase the diagnosis code.
(2) Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(3) Drive the vehicle for approx. five minutes.
(4) Check if diagnosis code is set.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the FCM/LDW/AHB-ECU (Refer to ).
A component protection has been triggered due to a bad weather or unfavourable environments. This is not a malfunction.
