Code No. P0219: Engine Over speed Condition

FUNCTION

• The engine-ECU monitors the engine speeds based on the signals from the crank angle sensor.
  
• The engine-ECU checks whether the engine speeds are too high.
  

TROUBLE JUDGMENT

• Ignition switch is in ON position
  

• Engine speed is 5,500 r/min or more
  

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION

• The throttle valve is shut (opening fixed).
  
• The engine is stopped (fuel injection and pump pressure feed are stopped).
  

PROBABLE CAUSE

• Failed engine-ECU
  

	Inspection chart for diagnosis codes (Refer to ).

	Replace the engine-ECU. After replacing the engine-ECU, register the injector identification code and learn fuel injection. (Refer to GROUP 00 - Precautions Before Service - What The Common Rail Engine Learns ).
