When the diagnosis codes relating to the LIN communication error are output, make sure
of the vehicle equipment. When the vehicle is not equipped with the system the ETACS-ECU communicates
to, the diagnosis code is always output. This is not abnormal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If any abnormality is found with the column switch, the ETACS-ECU stores the diagnosis
code No.U1530.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of the lighting switch <LHD and South Africa>
- Malfunction of the wiper/washer switch <RHD (Except vehicles for South Africa)>

Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.
|
|
|
Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the ETACS-ECU.
|
|
|
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
|
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
|
|
|
(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.
|
|

|
 Replace the lighting switch <LHD and South Africa> or wiper/washer switch <RHD
(Except vehicles for South Africa)>.

|
|
 A poor connection, open circuit or other intermittent malfunction is present in
the LIN bus lines between the column switch and the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Use
Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent
Malfunctions  ).
