Description
Detects the fuel level in fuel tank using the fuel gauge unit, and transmits the fuel gauge signal to the combination meter.
Component Function Check
1.CHECK COMBINATION METER OUTPUT SIGNAL
Connect CONSULT‐III.
Select the “DATA MONITOR” for the “METER/M&A”, then compare the “Fuel meter” monitor value with the fuel gauge reading on combination meter.

Replace the combination meter.
Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK COMBINATION METER INPUT SIGNAL
Turn the ignition switch ON.
Check the voltage between the combination meter harness connector and the ground.

GO TO 2.
NO
>>
Replace the combination meter.
2.CHECK FUEL GAUGE UNIT (SUB) CIRCUIT
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the connectors of combination meter and fuel gauge unit (sub).
Check for continuity between the combination meter harness connector and the fuel gauge unit (sub) harness connector.

3.CHECK FUEL GAUGE UNIT (MAIN-SUB) CIRCUIT
Disconnect fuel gauge unit (main) connector.
Check for continuity between the fuel gauge unit (sub) harness connector and the fuel gauge unit (main) harness connector.
