BLOWER MOTOR

1. Warm up the engine.
2. Operate the fan control dial. Check that the blower speed and indicator unit are switched for all blower speeds.

YES>>INSPECTION END

NO>>Perform the diagnosis for the blower motor. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

With CONSULT-III

1. Perform the “SELF-DIAGNOSIS”.
2. Check if any DTC is detected in the self-diagnostic results.

NOTE：

If DTC is displayed along with DTC U1000 or U1010, first diagnose the DTC U1000 or U1010. Refer to DTC Logic or DTC Logic.

YES>>Perform the diagnosis that is applicable to the sensor and actuator. Refer to DTC Index.

NO>>GO TO 2.

With CONSULT-III

1. Perform the “HVAC TEST” of HVAC active test item.
2. Check that the blower motor control signal changes according to each indicator number.

   • Perform the inspection of each output device after starting the engine because the compressor is operated.
     
   • If the Mode 7 is selected, the malfunction is displayed but it is normal.
     
   
   

YES>>INSPECTION END

NO>>GO TO 3.

1. Disconnect the blower motor connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Check voltage between blower motor harness connector and ground.

YES>>GO TO 4.

NO>>GO TO 7.

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Check for continuity between blower motor harness connector and ground.

YES>>GO TO 5.

NO>>Repair the harnesses or connectors.

1. Disconnect the A/C auto amp. connector.
2. Check for continuity between the blower motor harness connector and A/C auto amp. harness connector.

YES>>GO TO 6.

NO>>Repair the harnesses or connectors.

1. Connect the blower motor connector.
2. Connect the A/C auto amp. connector.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
4. Set the mode switch to VENT.
5. Check the output waveform between blower motor harness connector and ground using an oscilloscope, while varying the blower speed from 1 to 7.
   
   

YES>>Replace the blower motor.

NO>>Replace the A/C auto amp.

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Remove the blower relay. Refer to Fuse, Connector and Terminal Arrangement.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
4. Check the voltage between blower relay fuse block side terminal and ground. Refer to Description for relay terminal assignment.

YES>>GO TO 8.

NO>>Check ignition power supply circuit. Refer to Wiring Diagram - IGNITION POWER SUPPLY -.

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Install the blower relay. Refer to Fuse, Connector and Terminal Arrangement.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
4. Check the operating sound of blower relay.

YES>>GO TO 9.

NO>>Replace the blower relay.

Check 15A fuses [Nos. 21 and 22, located in the fuse block (J/B)].

NOTE：

Refer to Fuse, Connector and Terminal Arrangement.

YES>>Repair the harnesses or connectors.

NO>>Replace the fuse after repairing the applicable circuit.

1. Remove the blower motor. Refer to Exploded View.
2. Check that the blower motor turns smoothly.
   
   

YES>>INSPECTION END

NO>>Replace the blower motor.
