The steering lock unit performs the check by itself according to the steering lock status (before lock, after lock and unlock).

BCM detects malfunctioning of steering lock unit after steering locking.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
Turn ignition switch ON.
Turn ignition switch OFF.
Press driver side door switch.
Check “Self diagnostic result” with CONSULT-III.
Is DTC detected?
YES

1.INSPECTION START
Turn ignition switch ON.
Check “Self diagnostic result” with CONSULT-III.
Touch “ERASE”.
Perform DTC Confirmation Procedure.

YES

Replace steering lock unit.
