REMOVAL

    1.Use a refrigerant collecting equipment (for HFC‐134a) to discharge the refrigerant.
    2.Remove air cleaner case (bank 2) and air duct (bank 2). Refer to Exploded View.
    3.Remove engine undercover, using power tools.
    4.Remove drive belt. Refer to Exploded View.
    5.Disconnect compressor (ECV) connector (A).

    6.Disconnect compressor (magnet clutch) connector (B).
    7.Remove harness clip (C).
    8.Remove mounting bolt (A) from low‐pressure flexible hose bracket.

    9.Remove mounting bolt (B), and then disconnect low-pressure flexible hose (1) from low-pressure pipe 2 (2).
    ■ CAUTION ■
    Cap or wrap the joint of the cooler piping with suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of air.

    10.Remove mounting bolt (A) from high-pressure flexible hose bracket.

    11.Remove mounting (B), and then remove high-pressure flexible hose (1) from compressor.
    ■ CAUTION ■
    Cap or wrap the joint of the cooler piping and compressor with suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of air.

    12.Remove air inlet hose (bank 2) and air inlet pipe (bank 2). Refer to Exploded View.
    13.Remove mounting bolt (A).

    14.Remove mounting bolts (B), and then remove compressor (1) together with low‐pressure pipe 2 upward of vehicle.
    15.Remove mounting nut (A), and then remove low‐pressure pipe 2 (1) from compressor.

    ■ CAUTION ■
    Cap or wrap the joint of the cooler piping and compressor with suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of air.
 
 INSTALLATION

Installation is basically the reverse order of removal.
■ CAUTION ■
  • Replace O‐rings with new ones. Then apply compressor oil to them when installing.
  • Check for leakages when recharging refrigerant.
  • Check tension of the drive belt after installing compressor. Refer to Checking.
