The fuel pump is located in the engine compartment, next to the strut tower, on the left side 1970–83 models or under the center of the vehicle 1984.
Two different types of electromagnetic fuel pumps are used: ff–1 and 1300G sedans use a Bendix type fuel pump, while ff–1 and 1300G station wagons and all other models use a diaphragm type electromagnetic pump
If either type of pump fails, it must be replaced as an assembly, since it cannot be rebuilt.
