Heater Core

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

ff–1 and 1300G Models

The sub-radiator also functions as the heater core. Sub-radiator removal and installation are given in Section 3.

Except ff-1 and 1300G Models

NOTE: The heater unit must be removed from the car to service the heater core.

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
2. Remove water valve cover and disconnect the water valve.

   Fig. 2: Separate the case, then remove the heater core from the case

3. Disconnect the control rod that operates the defroster doors.
4. Separate the heater case by disengaging the retaining tabs.
5. Disconnect the air intake shutter return spring.
6. Remove the heater core.
7. Installation is the reverse of removal.
8. After Installation, be sure to check the operation of the intake shutter return spring.
