The VSS is inside the meter assembly. The speedometer should be replaced if
the VSS is found to be defective.
The VSS1 is located inside the transaxle; no removal and installation is possible.
The VSS2 is inside the meter assembly. The speedometer should be replaced if
the VSS is found to be defective.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Raise and safely support the vehicle on jackstands.
- At the transaxle case, disconnect the electrical harness from the VSS1.
- Remove the VSS-to-case bolt and the VSS.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Secure all components accordingly.
The VSS2 is inside the meter assembly. The speedometer should be replaced if
the VSS is found to be defective.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Raise and safely support the vehicle on jackstands.
- At the transaxle case, disconnect the electrical harness from the VSS1.
- Remove the VSS-to-case bolt and the VSS.
To install:
- Install VSS, and tighten the bolt snugly. Attach the harness to the VSS.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the electrical harness from the VSS2.
- Pull the VSS from the torque converter case.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Secure all components accordingly.
