- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- If equipped with an air bag system, allow at least 10 minutes between the
time the battery is disconnected and removing the ECU. This will allow time
for the air bag module to power down.
- Remove the lower trim panel retainer screws from below the steering column.
Lift the panel off and place aside.
- If equipped, remove the metal knee panel behind the trim panel, by removing
the retainer screws.
- Remove the retainer screws securing the ECU to the bracket next to or below
the steering column.
- Lower the ECU enough to access the control harnesses attached.
- Disengage the harnesses from the ECU, by pushing in the lock tab and pulling
the pug out of the ECU.
- Remove the ECU.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten all components to specifications.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- If equipped with an air bag system, allow at least 10 minutes between the
time the battery is disconnected and removing the ECU. This will allow time
for the air bag module to power down.
- Remove the lower trim panel retainer screws from below the steering column.
Lift the panel off and place aside.
- Remove the metal knee panel behind the trim panel, by removing the retainer
screws.
- Remove the retainer screws securing the ECU to the bracket to the left of
the steering column.
- Lower the ECU enough to access the control harnesses attached.
- Disengage the harnesses from the ECU, by pushing in the lock tab and pulling
the pug out of the ECU.
- Remove the ECU.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Secure all components.
