Electric Fuel Pump

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1.2L, 1.6L and 1.8L Engines

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Place a drip pan beneath the inlet side fuel connection.
  4. Pinch off the inlet side of the fuel filter to minimize fuel loss.
  5. Disconnect the electrical harness from the fuel pump.
  6. Remove the three screws securing the fuel bracket to the vehicle and pull the bracket and pump down as a unit.
  7. Remove the three nuts securing the fuel pump to the bracket.
  8. Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses from the fuel pump.
  9. Remove the pump from the vehicle.
  10. Remove the fuel pump-to-bracket bolts and remove the fuel pump.
  11. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  12. Pressurize the fuel system and verify that there are no leaks.
