TESTING

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Disconnect the fuel hose from the fuel delivery pipe of the throttle chamber, then install a suitable fuel gauge.

    NOTE: Before disconnecting the fuel hose, disconnect the fuel pump connector and crank the engine for approximately 5 seconds to release the pressure in the fuel system. If the engine starts, let it run until it stops.

  3. Measure fuel pressure with the engine idling. The fuel gauge should read 20–24 psi (136–163 kPa). If not within specification, replace the pressure regulator.
