Water Pump
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
Drain the coolant into a suitable container.
Remove or disconnect the following:
Negative battery cable
Engine undercover
Radiator outlet hose
Radiator fan motor assembly
Water pipe bypass pipe retaining bolt
Accessory drive belts
Timing belt and tensioner
Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor
Left side camshaft pulleys and left side rear timing belt cover
Tensioner bracket
Radiator hose and heater hose from the water pump
Water pump retainer bolts

To install:
Clean the gasket mating surfaces thoroughly. Always use new gaskets during installation.
Install or connect the following:
Water pump. Torque the bolts, in sequence, to 84-120 inch lbs. (10-14 Nm). After tightening the bolts once, retighten to the same specification again.
Radiator hose and heater hose to the water pump
Left side rear timing belt cover, left side camshaft pulleys and tensioner bracket
CMP sensor
Timing belt and tensioner
Accessory drive belts
Water pipe bypass pipe retaining bolt
Radiator fan motor assembly
Radiator outlet hose
Engine undercover
Negative battery cable
Fill the system with coolant.
Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature.
Check for leaks.
