Removal & Installation

2.0L DOHC Engine

To Remove:

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Battery ground cable
   • Camshaft position sensor connector
   • Camshaft position sensor from the LH camshaft support

To Install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   • Camshaft position sensor
     1. Torque to: 4.7 ft. lbs. (6.4 Nm)
   • Camshaft position sensor connector
   • Battery ground cable

2.5L SOHC Engine

To Remove:

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Battery ground cable
   • Camshaft position sensor connector
   • Bolt connecting the camshaft position sensor to the camshaft position sensor support
   • Bolt connecting camshaft position sensor support to LH camshaft cap
   • Camshaft position sensor and support
   • Camshaft position sensor

To Install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   • Camshaft position sensor to the support
     1. Torque to: 4.7 ft. lbs. (6.4 Nm)
   • Camshaft position sensor and support to LH camshaft cap
     1. Torque to: 4.7 ft. lbs. (6.4 Nm)
   • Camshaft position sensor connector
   • Battery ground cable

2.5L DOHC Engine

To Remove:

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Ground cable from battery

     Camshaft Sensor

   • Connector from the camshaft position sensor RH
   • Camshaft position sensor RH from the backside of cylinder head
   • Connector from the camshaft position sensor LH
   • Camshaft position sensor LH

To Install:

1. Install or connect the following:

   Camshaft Sensor

   • Camshaft position sensor LH
   • Connector for the camshaft position sensor LH
   • Camshaft position sensor RH to the backside of cylinder head
   • Connector for the camshaft position sensor RH
   • Ground cable to battery
