CAUTION
Relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing fuel system components in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury.
- After relieving the system pressure, a small amount of fuel may be released in the process of servicing the fuel lines or connections.
- In order to reduce the risk of personal injury, cover the regulator and the fuel line fittings with a shop towel before disconnecting to absorb any fuel remaining in the fuel lines.
- Place the shop towel in an approved container when the disconnection work has been completed.
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
- Disconnect fuel pump relay connector.
- Start and run the engine until stall.
- Crank for five seconds more.
- Turn off the ignition.
Note: Place rags over fuel junction which is being serviced before loosening lines
