Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
2. Safely raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Ground cable from battery
   • Wheel
   • Brake hose to strut bolt

     Note: Scribe an alignment mark on the camber adjusting bolt which secures strut to housing.

   • ABS sensor harness bolt

   • Housing to strut bolts

     CAUTION
     While holding head of adjusting bolt, loosen self-locking nut.

   • Strut mount to body nuts

To Install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   • Strut mount at upper side of strut to body
     1. Torque to: 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm)
   • Lower strut bolts and nuts
     1. Torque to: 129 ft. lbs. (175 Nm)

        Note: Position aligning mark on camber adjustment bolt with aligning mark on lower side of strut. While holding head of adjusting bolt, tighten self-locking nut. Be sure to use new self-locking nut.

     2. ABS sensor harness to strut
        1. Torque to: 24.6 ft. lbs. (33 Nm)
     3. Brake hose to strut bolts
        1. Torque to: 24.6 ft. lbs. (33 Nm)
     4. Wheels

Note: Check wheel alignment and adjust if necessary.
