Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
2. Safely raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Ground cable from battery
   • Wheel

   • Cotter pin from the ball stud
   • Castle nut
   • Ball stud from the transverse link
   • Ball joint to housing bolt
   • Ball joint from the housing

To Install:

1. Install or connect the following:

2. Ball joint onto housing
   • Torque to: 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm)

     CAUTION
     Do not apply grease to tapered portion of ball stud.

   • Ball joint to transverse link
     1. Castle nut - Torque to: 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm) + 60 degrees aligning nut with hole in stud end
3. Insert new cotter pin and bend it around castle nut.
4. Install front wheel.
