Front, Rear And Torque Converter Turbine Vehicle Speed Sensor’s (A/T)

To Remove:

1. Disconnect or remove the following
   • Ground cable from battery
   • Air cleaner case
   • Air intake chamber

     Transmission Connector

   • Transmission connector
   • Pitching stopper
   • Transmission connector from stay

   NOTE: Be sure to clean the transmission exterior before opening.

2. Drain the ATF completely
3. Tighten the ATF drain plug after draining the ATF
4. Replace the gasket with a new one
   • Torque specification: 25 Nm (18.1 ft. lbs.)
5. Remove the following
   • Front, center, rear exhaust pipes and muffler
   • Shield cover
   • Propeller shaft
6. Place a transmission jack under transmission

   NOTE: Make sure that the support plates of transmission jack don't touch the crossmember.

7. Remove the transmission rear crossmember bolts
8. Lower the trans jack

   NOTE: Do not separate the trans jack and transmission.

9. Remove or disconnect the following
   • Oil cooler inlet and outlet pipe

     NOTE: When removing the outlet pipe, be careful not to lose balls and springs used with retaining screws.

     Front And Turbine Speed Sensor

   • Front torque converter turbine speed sensor

     Front And Rear Speed Sensor

   • Rear vehicle speed sensor
   • Oil pan

     Trans Valve Body

   • Duty solenoid connector and ATF temperature sensor
   • Connectors from clip and disconnect the connector
   • Harness assembly

To Install:

1. Pass the harness assembly through the hole in the transmission case

   Trans Valve Body

2. Connect the following
   • Harness connectors
   • Connectors of same color, and secure to valve body using clips
   • Torque specification: (Transmission ground cable and ATF temperature sensor) 8 Nm (5.8 ft. lbs.)
   • Apply proper amount of liquid gasket to the entire oil pan mating surface
   • Fluid packing: THREE BOND 1217B (Part No. K0877YA020)

3. Apply liquid gasket fully to three holes other than screw holes on transmission case
   • Fluid packing: THREE BOND 1217B (Part No. K0877YA020)
4. Install the following
   • Oil pan
   • Torque specification: 5 Nm (3.6 ft. lbs.)

     Front And Rear Speed Sensor

     Front And Turbine Speed Sensor

   • Front and rear vehicle speed sensor, and also the torque converter turbine speed sensor, and then fasten the harness.
   • Torque specification: 7 Nm (5.1 ft. lbs.)
   • New aluminum washer and oil cooler pipes
   • Torque specification: T1: 25 Nm (18.1 ft. lbs.) T2: 44 Nm (32.5 ft. lbs.)
   • Transmission rear crossmember bolts
   • Torque specification: 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.)
   • Propeller shaft
   • Shield cover
   • Front, center, rear exhaust pipes and muffler

     Front And Turbine Speed Sensor

   • Transmission connector to the stay
   • Pitching stopper
   • Air cleaner case
   • Air intake chamber
5. Fill ATF and check ATF level

Vehicle Speed Sensor (M/T)

To Remove:

1. Disconnect or remove the following
   • Ground cable from battery
   • Front, center rear exhaust pipes and muffler

     Vehicle Speed Sensor MT

   • Vehicle speed sensor connector
   • Vehicle speed sensor

To Install:

NOTE: Discard the vehicle speed sensor and after removal, replace with a new one.

Ensure the sensor mounting hole is clean and free of foreign matter.

Align the tip end of key with key groove on end of speedometer shaft during installation.

1. Install or connect the following

   Vehicle Speed Sensor MT

   • Vehicle speed sensor
   • Torque specification: 5.9 Nm (4.3 ft. lbs.)
   • Vehicle speed sensor connector
   • Front, center exhaust pipes and muffler
   • Battery ground cable to battery
