Cooling fan motor (FA20)

Components Inspection Removal / installation

COOLING
COOLING FAN MOTOR (FA20)
EXPLODED VIEW
REMOVAL
1. Removal of air cleaner case SUB-ASSY (Refer to )
2. Removal of front bumper cover (Refer to )
3. Removal of air cleaner duct (Refer to )
4. Removal of radiator cover plate (Refer to )
5. Removal of radiator reservoir tank ASSY (Refer to )
6. Removal of water filler SUB-ASSY
(1) Remove the four bolts and disconnect the water filler SUB-ASSY.
7. Disconnection of hood lock ASSY (Refer to )
8. Removal of radiator support SUB-ASSY (Refer to )
10. Fan removal
(1) Remove the nut and remove the fan.
11. Removal of fan NO.2 (when there is air conditioning)
(1) Remove the nut and remove the fan NO. 2.
12. Removal of the cooling fan motor (When there is no air conditioning)
(1) Remove the three screws and remove the cooling fan motor.
13. Removal of the cooling fan motor (When there is air conditioning)
(1) Release the clamp of connector on the cooling fan side and disconnect the wiring harness from the cooling fan motor NO. 2.
(2) Remove the three screws and remove the cooling fan motor.
14. Removal of the cooling fan motor NO.2 (When there is air conditioning)
(1) Remove the three screws and remove the cooling fan motor NO. 2.
INSTALLATION
1. Installation of the cooling fan motor NO.2 (When there is air conditioning)
(1) Remove the three screws and install the cooling fan motor NO. 2.

Standard value:
Tightening torque=3.9N·m { 40kgf·cm} {2.9ft·lbf}
2. Installation of the cooling fan motor (When there is air conditioning)
(1) Install the cooling fan motor with the three screws.

Standard value:
Tightening torque=3.9N·m { 40kgf·cm} {2.9ft·lbf}
(2) Connect the wiring harness to the cooling fan motor.
(3) Engage the clamp of connector on the cooling fan motor NO. 2 side to the fan shroud.
3. Installation of the cooling fan motor (When there is no air conditioning)
(1) Remove the three screws and install the cooling fan motor.

Standard value:
Tightening torque=3.9N·m { 40kgf·cm} {2.9ft·lbf}
4. Installation of fan NO.2 (when there is air conditioning)
(1) Install the fan NO. 2 with the nut.

Standard value:
Tightening torque=6.3N·m { 64kgf·cm} {4.6 ft·lbf}
5. Fan installation
(1) Install the fan with the nut.

Standard value:
Tightening torque=6.3N·m { 64kgf·cm} {4.6 ft·lbf}
6. Fan shroud installation
NOTE:
·Insert a cardboard, blanket, etc. between the radiator ASSY and fan shroud to protect the radiator ASSY.
·When installing a new fan shroud, put a new radiator gasket (upper side) and cut the radiator gasket (upper side) at the location where the old gasket was cut when removing it.
(1) Insert the fitting area at the lower part of fan shroud to the fitting area at the lower part of radiator ASSY.
CAUTION:
·Be careful not to damage the radiator outlet hose, discharge hose and A/C tube & accessory ASSY.
·Be careful not to damage the radiator inlet hose, radiator hose NO. 1 and water filler SUB-ASSY.
(2) Engage the two claws and install the fan shroud to the radiator ASSY.
(3) Engage the two clamps.
(4) Connect the connectors for cooling fan and for cooling fan NO. 2 (With air conditioning).
8. Radiator cover plate installation (Refer to )
9. Air cleaner duct installation (Refer to )
10. Hood lock ASSY connection (Refer to )
11. Water filler SUB-ASSY installation
(1) Install the radiator cap stay with the four bolts.

Standard value:
Tightening torque=7.5N·m { 77kgf·cm} {5.5ft·lbf}
12. Radiator reservoir tank ASSY installation (Refer to )
13. Installation of front bumper cover (Refer to )
14. Installation of air cleaner case SUB-ASSY (Refer to )
