Components Removal / installation

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE
TCM
COMPONENTS
REMOVAL
1. Removal of instrument side panel (refer to )
2. Removal of instrument panel under cover SUB-ASSY No.1 (refer to )
3. Removal of instrument panel under cover SUB-ASSY No.2 (refer to )
4. Removal of knee airbag module (refer to )
5. REMOVE TCM
(1) for LHD:
(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors.
(b) Remove the 2 nuts and the TCM.
(c) Remove the 2 nuts and the TCM bracket.
(2) for RHD:
(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and the TCM.
(c) Remove the 2 nuts and the TCM bracket.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL TCM
(1) for RHD:
(a) Install the TCM bracket to the TCM with the 2 nuts.

Standard value:
Tightening torque=7.5N·m { 76kgf·cm} {5.5ft·lbf}
(b) Install the 2 bolts and the TCM.

Standard value:
Tightening torque=18N·m { 184kgf·cm} {13ft·lbf}
(c) Connect the 2 connectors.
(2) for LHD:
(a) Install the TCM bracket to the TCM with the 2 nuts.

Standard value:
Tightening torque=7.5N·m { 76kgf·cm} {5.5ft·lbf}
(b) Install the 2 nuts and the TCM.

Standard value:
Tightening torque=7.5N·m { 76kgf·cm} {5.5ft·lbf}
(c) Connect the 2 connectors.
2. Installation of knee airbag module (refer to )
3. Installation of instrument under cover SUB-ASSY No.2 (refer to )
4. Installation of instrument under cover SUB-ASSY No.1 (refer to )
5. Installation of instrument side panel (refer to )
6. Check of airbag warning light (refer to )
7. RESET CHECK RESET MEMORY

NOTE:
When the automatic transmission assembly, transmission valve body assembly, and TCM are replaced, the TCM learning value must be cleared.
