AIRBAG CUT-OFF SWITCH
COMPONENTS
REMOVAL
NOTE:
·Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
·The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.
1. PRECAUTION
WARNING:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing. (See page )
CAUTION:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (See page ).
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
WARNING:
Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
CAUTION:
The power window system utilizes a mechanism that the door glass moves down slightly when the door is opened, and that the glass moves up when closing the door in order to prevent the door molding from being damaged. When the battery negative (-) terminal needs to be disconnected for servicing, fully open the driver and passenger door glasses in advance.
3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL (See page )
4. REMOVE AIRBAG CUTOFF SWITCH CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(1) Check that the ignition switch is off.
(2) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
WARNING:
Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
CAUTION:
The power window system utilizes a mechanism that the door glass moves down slightly when the door is opened, and that the glass moves up when closing the door in order to prevent the door molding from being damaged. When the battery negative (-) terminal needs to be disconnected for servicing, fully open the driver and passenger door glasses in advance.
(3) Detach the 2 claws to remove the airbag cutoff switch cylinder sub-assembly from instrument side panel.
