AIR CONDITIONER

REMOVAL
WARNING:
The following service operations include the works which may affect the SRS airbag system. Before starting work, always be sure to confirm the precautions related to the SRS airbag system. (Refer to )
1. Precautions
CAUTION:
After turning the ignition switch to OFF, you may have to wait for a while before disconnecting the battery terminals. Check appropriate precautions for battery terminal disconnection before proceeding. (Refer to )
2. Disconnection of the battery ground terminal
(1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF, disconnect the battery ground terminal, and then wait for 60 seconds before starting the work.
WARNING:
The air bag and pretensioner system are fitted with a backup power supply. If you start the work within 60 seconds after disconnecting the battery ground terminal, the air bag may be activated.
CAUTION:
To avoid damage to the molding, be sure to fully open the door glasses on both driver’s and passenger’s sides.
3. Removal of instrument panel SUB-ASSY (Refer to )
4. Removal of steering column ASSY (Refer to )
5. Removal of front door scuff plate RH (Refer to )
6. Removal of front door scuff plate LH (Refer to )
7. Removal of the cowl side trim board RH (Refer to )
8. Removal of cowl side trim board LH (Refer to )
9. Removal of instrument panel reinforcement ASSY (Refer to )
10. Removal of air conditioner radiator damper servo SUB-ASSY NO.3
(1) Remove the 3 screws and remove air conditioner radiator damper servo SUB-ASSY NO.3.
INSTALLATION
1. Installation of air conditioner radiator damper servo SUB-ASSY NO.3
(1) Install air conditioner radiator damper servo SUB-ASSY NO.3 with the 3 screws.
2. Installation of instrument panel reinforcement ASSY (Refer to )
3. Installation of the cowl side trim board RH (Refer to )
4. Installation of cowl side trim board LH (Refer to )
5. Installation of the front door scuff plate RH (Refer to )
6. Installation of front door scuff plate LH (Refer to )
7. Installation of steering column ASSY (Refer to )
8. Installation of instrument panel SUB-ASSY (Refer to )
9. Connection of the battery ground terminal

Standard value:
Tightening torque=6.0N·m { 61kgf·cm} {4.4ft·lbf}
