Battery Removal and Installation

Removal
1)Disconnect negative (–) cable (1) at battery.
2)Disconnect positive (+) cable (2) at battery.
3)Remove battery band (3).
4)Remove battery (4).
5)Remove battery tray (1), if necessary.
6)Remove battery bracket (2), if necessary.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
•Tighten battery band bolt, battery tray bolts and battery bracket bolts to specified torque.
Battery tray bolt (b): 8.8 N·m (0.90 kgf-m, 6.5 lbf-ft)
Battery band bolt (c): 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 17.0 lbf-ft)
•Tighten battery cables securely.
•Initialize electrical devices, if necessary.
Tightening torque
Battery bracket bolt (a): 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 17.0 lbf-ft)Battery tray bolt (b): 8.8 N·m (0.90 kgf-m, 6.5 lbf-ft)
Battery band bolt (c): 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 17.0 lbf-ft)
•Initialize electrical devices, if necessary.
