C1282: 4WD Abnormal Heat Generation This DTC is detected if any one of the following conditions is met.
•Transfer oil temperature or coupling rear drive air temperature is higher than specified value.
•Estimated rear drive coupling assembly heating value exceeds specified upper limit. •Front wheel(s) is spinning for a specified period of time. |
•Temperature of transfer oil is high
•Temperature of rear drive coupling air is high |

1)Clear DTC.
2)Set ignition “OFF”.
3)Set ignition “ON” and check DTC.
Is DTC C1282 still detected?

Go to Step 2.

Parameter check 1
1)Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC with ignition “OFF”.
2)Set ignition “ON”.
3)Check “Transfer Oil Temperature” displayed on SUZUKI scan tool.
Is current temperature higher than 120 °C (248 °F)?

Keep ignition “ON” until parameter reading of “Transfer Oil Temperature” falls below 120 °C (248 °F). Go to Step 3.

Go to Step 3.

Parameter check 2
1)Check “Coupling Assembly Temperature” displayed on SUZUKI scan tool.
Is current temperature higher than 80 °C (176 °F)?

Keep ignition “ON” until parameter reading of “Coupling Assembly Temperature” falls below 80 °C (176 °F). Go to Step 4.

Go to Step 4.

2)Set ignition “OFF”.
3)Set ignition “ON” and check DTC.
Is DTC C1282 still detected?

Keep ignition “ON” for 30 minutes.
