Precautions: Precautions for Disassembly and Reassembly · Precautions for Transmission / Transaxle · General safety (00)

•Diagnostic information stored in TCM memory can be cleared as well as checked using SUZUKI scan tool or CAN communication OBD-II generic scan tool. Before using scan tool, read its Operator’s Manual to know how to use it.
•Carry out the TCM Learning Value Clearance, Neutral Position Calibration and TCM Learning Value Initialization procedures after any of the following actions are performed. Failure to perform these procedures may cause excessive shift shock or gear shift shock.
—Replacement, removal or installation of TCM
—Replacement, removal or installation of valve body assembly
—Disassembly or replacement of A/T assembly
—Replacement of A/T internal parts (e.g. forward clutch, direct clutch, reverse clutch or 1st and reverse brake)
•Read Precautions for Electrical Circuit Service before inspection, and understand well what is written there.
•TCM replacement
—When substituting a known-good TCM, check that each solenoid valve has resistance within specified range.
Neglecting this check may result in damage to the known-good TCM.
•Communication of TCM and other control module is established by CAN. (For more detail of CAN communication for TCM, refer to “CAN Communication System Diagnosis General Description”).
